Why did the chicken cross the road?

I was born in a village which was located at the countryside with my family. I grow together with farm livestock. My father was a farmer and he owned an ordinary farm beside our wooden small house. I like to go there with my siblings and play with the cattle although we knew that we would be scolded due to the messy that done by us.

I heard the conversation of my parents heedlessly when I passed their room and back to my room from the toilet in night. I knew that my mother’s sister was living together with her husband offensively in the hectic city. They always quarreled with each other because of little problems and yet didn’t have sufficient time to company their children. Therefore, they decided to divorce with each other in order to terminate their unpleasant married lives. They left their children to my mother and hope my mother can take them in care for a period of time. I thought that the action they took was wrong because of they didn’t think about their children were the victims of this decision. I was pity to my cousins.

I met them the next day. My cousins were Nancy and James. They were proud and despised my family and my living place just because of they were citizens. Our relationships were bad due to we never met or played together before. My mother treated them like her own children but they didn't appreciate it. Since I was so irritated of their manners toward my dearest mother, I started to quarrel with them. My mother scolded all of us later. In night, they slept in the same room with my siblings and me.

My siblings and I woke up early in the morning. This is our habits since we were young. After we done and had our own breakfast, both of the “Citizens” just woke up. My mother had done their breakfast so they finish it for awhile. Then my siblings and I began to feed our farm livestock. We also brought Nancy and James to there and taught them how to feed the cattle. First, my brother opened the gate of the farm. We went into and began to feed the chickens and chicks later. I asked James to guard the gate of the hencoop carefully to prevent all the chickens and chicks ran out from the hen coop.

However, this was the first time he did this kind of work so he might be defeated. When we were concentrated our minds to teach Nancy the ways to feed the chickens and chicks, we didn’t notice some of them had ran away. By the way, James was extremely nervous when he saw the scene. He tried to overcome the problem but it didn’t works. So we started to chase after the chickens. Well, the farm was located between my house and the main road of the housing area. Since the chickens could not run to my house because there was short gate surrounded my house, so they ran and crossed the road to the opposite side of the road.

We also followed the chickens and crossed the road. I saw the kindness old man who lived opposite my house, also helped us to chase the chickens. He trapped them into a coop that sufficient in size and returned it to us. We were so grateful and thankful to him yet my mother would not scold us because of losing the chickens. We had a short talk to the old man later. Nancy and James began to change their attitudes after this incident happened because they realized that they were not a professional and it was useless to be proud. I was glad that they could think mature finally. Although I was an ordinary villager, I would be responsible to every little thing that occurs in the village that I lived.
